MOVEMENT AMONG A PEOPLE GROUP
While most of the country has little gospel light, there is one people group among whom God has done amazing work. About 30-40 years ago, hundreds and thousands of these people (let’s call them the Kays) came to faith in Jesus, and there are now dozens of churches in their region. We believe they will be the key to reaching the rest of the country.
“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Ps 107:1) Lord, there is no one like you. You keep your covenant with your people; even when we are faithless, you remain faithful. Your covenant love never ends.
“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers…” (1 Th 1:2.) Forgive us, Father, for not thanking you for the work you have done and continue to do. Let us not forget all the North African lives you have rescued and brought from darkness to light.
“For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction.” (1 Th 1:4–5a) Thank our Lord that he has chosen many from North Africa who have received the Word by the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
“For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.” (1 Th 1:8.) Ask that the gospel would sound forth from the Kays and other North Africa believers and reach the rest of the country. May North African brothers and sisters pray for and proclaim the gospel to many unreached people groups, even sending people to work among them.
