LABORERS IN THEIR OWN LAND
Some believers in this land have a desire to take the truth to their countrymen in other cities and among other people groups. However, there needs to be more! If we want to see the truth spread, we need local believers to be a part of that work.
PRAISE
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
God, you are all powerful and yet full of love, mercy and grace. You made salvation available for ALL people.
CONFESSION
“For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)
Lord, we confess that not all who follow after you see it as their responsibility to preach the gospel. We can become comfortable and internally focused and forget that we have this wonderful, powerful truth to be preached!
THANKS
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)
Thank you, Father, that You still use us in your great plan. Despite our weaknesses and shortcomings, You use us to proclaim your truth. And in doing so, You put Your power on display.
REQUEST
“Therefore, if anyone is in Chris, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5: 17-21)
God, we ask you to allow the power of the gospel that has changed the hearts of the people here to also drive them to share it with others. Help them to not lose sight of the great work you have done in their lives and how they now have a commission and a responsibility to proclaim your power through the gospel.
