Moe is in many ways a typical Chay man: he lives in a small town where he leads a quiet life; he enjoys writing poetry and caring for his family. But Moe has also rejected the majority religion of his people. He sees its inconsistencies and wrongs in a way that most don’t. Yet while he’s rejected false worship, he also hasn’t believed the gospel. He thinks following Jesus must be another made-up story, just like all other religions.
“Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation…” (Rev 5:9) Jesus alone is worthy, because he has purchased his people with his own blood. All glory to him among all nations!
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Forgive us, Lord, for forgetting the plight of the lost and the unreached: without Christ, they have no hope of salvation. Give us greater conviction of the uniqueness of Christ and a greater boldness to proclaim his name.
“There is none holy like the Lord: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.” (1 Sam 2:2)
Father, you alone are our rock; all other ground is sinking sand. Thank you for how you are opening the eyes of some North Africans, including Chay people, to the emptiness of their worship. Continue to draw people to you!
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ…” (2 Co 10:5)
May your people, Lord, boldly proclaim the truth and tear down the lies of false religion that sets itself up against Christ. Remove the veil from many North Africans’ hearts so that they reject lies and believe the truth.
