As churches are gathered and planted throughout North Africa, they must grow in maturity and health. Gospel workers are commissioned to present to Jesus believers who are mature in Christ. These churches must faithfully teach the Word and practice the ordinances.
“… if we are faithless, he remains faithful– for he cannot deny himself.” (2 Tim 2:13)
Lord, you are ever faithful. That is your unchanging character. While we are so fickle, you are consistent and unwaveringly perfect.
“But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.” (1 Cor 3:1)
Father, we are so often faithless and immature. We are called to grow in Christlikeness and holiness, yet we so often continue to live in sin, following the desires of our flesh. Forgive us!
“… so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor 1:7–8)
Thank you, Lord, that you give your church the gifts it needs in order to sustain it in Christ. Give the North African church gifts by your Spirit, by which you uphold, sustain and mature each believer.
“And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
Lord, raise up mature churches throughout North Africa, led by godly, humble, Word-centered shepherds. Let these churches boldly and clearly minister your Word. May they practice the ordinances, care for their members and be an embassy for your kingdom in their country. May gospel workers pass on to them the whole counsel of God so that they will stand firm.
