FRANK’S STORY
Frank is a young man, married, and has a young daughter. Without a good education and limited work opportunities, he struggles daily to provide for his own needs and for those of his family. He doesn’t have hope for a better life in his country, and like many others, desperately wants to leave. He doesn’t think highly of most who practice his religion, but still likes his religion. He has shown some openness to the good news, and has recently heard quite a bit of truth and read some from the Bible, but for now he remains convinced of his religion.
PRAISE
“When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.” (Mark 6:34)
Praise You, Father, for your compassion that leads you to action on our behalf. We praise You for giving us Your Son and Your Word to teach us many things.
CONFESSION
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned – every one – to his own way…” (Isaiah 53:6a)
We confess that we have gone astray, like sheep without a shepherd, lost in sin and despair. We confess that we have no hope apart from You, Lord.
THANKS
“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?” (Psalm 56:8)
Thank you, Father, for being intimately acquainted with all of our struggles and tears. Thank you that you know them, and keep track of them, and have compassion on us for them. Thank you that you know Frank in this way as well.
REQUEST
“As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” (Matt 13:22)
Father, may the seeds of Your Word bear fruit in our lives, in the lives of those around us, and in Frank’s life. Please do not allow the cares of the world to choke out Your Word, and distract us from eternal things. May Your Word bear fruit in Frank’s life, and give him an eternal hope that cannot be taken away.
